Pipedrive vs HubSpot: Which CRM Fits a Small Business?
Pipedrive vs HubSpot for small businesses: October 2026 pricing, free plans, ease of use and features compared, with a verdict on who should pick which.

Pick Pipedrive if your team is mainly selling and wants a visual pipeline; plans run $14 to $79 per seat per month billed annually, with no free plan. Pick HubSpot if you want sales, marketing and service in one place; its free tools cover 2 users, and Starter lists at $20 per seat (October 2026).
The verdict
Choose Pipedrive if your business lives and dies by its sales pipeline and you want a tool your team can learn in an afternoon. Its Growth plan, at $39 per seat billed annually, covers email sync, automations and sequences for far less than HubSpot’s Professional tier. Choose HubSpot if you want marketing, sales and service in one system, or if you’re one or two people who can run on its free plan. If you’re unsure, start on HubSpot’s free tools and Pipedrive’s 14-day trial side by side, using real deals.

Pricing: close at the start, far apart in the middle
At the entry level, the two are similar. Pipedrive Lite is $14 per seat. HubSpot Starter lists at $20 per seat, and in October 2026 HubSpot was showing a new-customer offer of $7 per seat billed annually. Check current price, and ask what renewal looks like.
The gap opens at the next step. Pipedrive Growth adds full email sync, automations, nurturing sequences and forecast reports for $39 per seat. HubSpot’s equivalent depth sits in Sales Hub Professional at $90 per seat billed annually, plus a one-time $1,500 onboarding fee.
For a 5-person sales team, billed annually:
- Pipedrive Growth: 5 × $39 = $195 a month, or $2,340 a year.
- HubSpot Starter (list): 5 × $20 = $100 a month, or $1,200 a year.
- HubSpot Sales Hub Professional: 5 × $90 = $450 a month, or $5,400 a year, plus $1,500 onboarding in year one.
The honest comparison is Pipedrive Growth against HubSpot Starter if Starter’s automation is enough for you, or against Professional if it isn’t. Our HubSpot pricing explained page breaks down what Starter includes.
Ease of use
Both are easier than Salesforce or Zoho CRM for a non-technical team.
Pipedrive does one thing. You open it and see your deals in columns, and you drag them forward. There’s less to learn because there’s less there.
HubSpot has more ground to cover: contacts, deals, marketing email, forms, chat, tickets and reporting. The basic CRM is still simple, but menus fill up as you add hubs. If only your salespeople will use the CRM, Pipedrive’s focus is an advantage. If marketing and service staff will use it too, HubSpot’s breadth pays off.
Features that matter to small businesses
Free plan. HubSpot wins outright. Its free tools include deal and task management, email tracking, templates, meeting booking, live chat and quotes, for up to 2 users. Pipedrive has no free plan. See Best free CRM software.
Email and automation. Pipedrive’s Growth plan includes full email sync with tracking and automated sequences. HubSpot Starter includes up to 50 sales workflows and 15 pipelines, per its pricing page.
Marketing. HubSpot is a marketing platform as well as a CRM. Pipedrive’s Campaigns add-on covers basic email marketing; for anything more you’d connect a separate tool.
Lead generation. Pipedrive includes LeadBooster on Premium, or sells it as an add-on. HubSpot includes forms and live chat on the free tools.
AI features. Pipedrive lists AI-powered reports and its Nova meeting assistant from Lite. HubSpot Starter includes 500 HubSpot Credits a month for AI features and agents.
Growing into each one
Think about where you’ll be in two years, not just today.
With Pipedrive, the upgrade path is gradual. Premium ($59 per seat) adds LeadBooster, custom lead scoring, data enrichment, and contracts with e-signatures. Ultimate ($79) adds security controls such as IP- and time-based access limits, a sandbox account and extended phone support. Each step is a modest per-seat increase, and there are no onboarding fees on the pricing page.
With HubSpot, the path has a bigger step in it. Starter covers a lot, but moving to Sales Hub Professional more than quadruples the per-seat list price and adds a one-time fee. In exchange, you get one system that can also run your marketing and customer service as those needs grow.
If your plan is “sales team gets bigger”, Pipedrive scales more cheaply. If your plan is “we start doing real marketing”, HubSpot saves you connecting separate tools later.
Our take
For a small business whose CRM is really a sales tool, Pipedrive Growth is the better value: everything a sales team needs for less than half the per-seat price of HubSpot Sales Hub Professional. For a business that wants one system for marketing and sales, or a one- or two-person team that can stay free, HubSpot is the better fit. If neither feels right, compare HubSpot vs Zoho CRM or see our ranked Best CRM for small business and HubSpot alternatives. Whichever you pick, Get it set up can import your contacts and connect your email.
Questions people ask
Is Pipedrive cheaper than HubSpot?
At the entry level they’re close. As of October 2026, Pipedrive Lite is $14 per seat billed annually and HubSpot Starter lists at $20 per seat, with new-customer discounts running. At the mid-tier, Pipedrive Growth ($39) is well below HubSpot Sales Hub Professional ($90 plus a $1,500 onboarding fee).
Does Pipedrive have a free plan like HubSpot?
No. Pipedrive’s pricing page lists a 14-day free trial with no credit card, but no free plan. HubSpot’s free tools have no expiry and cover up to 2 users and 1,000 contacts.
Which is easier to use, Pipedrive or HubSpot?
Both are among the easier CRMs for non-technical teams. Pipedrive is narrower, so there’s less to learn. HubSpot has more tools, which means more menus, but its basic CRM is still quick to pick up.
Can Pipedrive do email marketing?
Through its Campaigns add-on, which Pipedrive lists from $13.33. HubSpot includes marketing email in its free tools (2,000 sends a month with HubSpot branding) and sells Marketing Hub for more.
Which CRM is better for a small sales team?
For a team of two to ten salespeople focused on closing deals, Pipedrive Growth is usually the better value. If the same people also run marketing campaigns, HubSpot keeps everything in one system.
